Reaseaching the McLaughlin/McLoughlin family from Ballina. Unk McLaughlin married Catherine Ruane in Ireland, do not have dates. They had a son Michael McLaughln born about 1885 in Ballina. He emigrated to the US about 1899 and settled in the Darby county area of Phildelphia. He married Mary Agnes Murray from Bonniconlon, Mayo about 1907. My Mother-in-law Eileen was the 5th of 6 children and was born in 1918 in Philidelphia. Looking for more information on the McLaughlin family.

I found a civil birth index record for a Michael McLoughlin born in the first quarter of 1886 in the Ballina registration district. Possibly this record is for your relative. To get a copy of this record, you need to contact the GRO. Go to this link http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Apply-for-Certificates.aspx Hit the link for a birth certificate in English. You will get a screen which asks for a User name and Password. Hit cancel and the form should appear. Fill out the form and make sure you ask for a copy which should cost around 4 euros. Tell the GRO that the birth occurred in the first quarter of 1886 in the Ballina registration district. You can also ask the GRO to e-mail the copy to you.
I also looked for a marriage index record for Catherine and her husband with no success.
