Seeking researchers, decendants, ancestors, on the family trees of the Moore, of Moorehall, Mukleroon Hill, Lough Cara, county Mayo.

There is much stock information on several generations of this well known family seen on the internet.

John Moore was involved in the 1798 uprising and proclaimed President of the Republic.

George Moore was the author.

etc.

However, we have not been able to find thurough information on each branch and lesser published lines for a comprehensive or organized family tree, for each known generation. Most information is found concentrating on strictly the male line of the three or four well known individuals, in a fashion much like many confusing Peerage notations, limited to the ledest, or prominant, or rank, but not regard parallel lines or other children and their families.

Such data is poorly written, in a sloppy format, not clear on deaths or children, and their lines and decendants, dates, and places.

We would like to see this clarified and sorted out, with a better mapping trail also to the ancestors of the Moore, to the Lynch of Athy, the Browns, the Kilkelly, or other marriages, siblings, ancestors, and decendants.

This is a work in progress.

We welcome your participation.

  • Hi looking over old postings and see your information, at the time of posting the site was in its infancy and run by a few volunteers mainly, it is still mainly run by volunteers hence they are unlikely to be in a position to do other research etc.

There are a number of Mayo private groups on Facebook doing genealogy but I doubt you will find the expertise to assist in your project but maybe someone could assist.

Will leave your posting in the chance it may turn up on someones Google search.

    Good Luck

    Pat
