My great, great, great grandparents Daniel McLauchlan (surname spelling varies) and Elizabeth Riley (again different spellings) were married in Oughaval in May 1833  their daughter Sarah was born about 1839.  I don't know if they had any other children.  I haven't found any other records re Elizabeth but Daniel is recorded in the 1851 Scottish census in Muirkirk, Ayrshire.  Sarah married James Brawley in Muirkirk in 1856.

On his 1863 death certificate Daniel is recorded as a widower. He died in Muirkirk. His age was given as 51 and his parents were both deceased. Their names were Peter McLauchlan and Catherine O'Boyle.  The death was registered by his brother Peter McLauchlan.

Peter had a son Patrick born in Ireland in 1846 but they were also in Muirkirk, Scotland for the 1851 census.

I'd love to hear from any other descendants and to find any records relating to the family.

You may want to consider autosomal DNA testing.
