The Parish of Bourney is to be congratulated on doing a superlative job in helping me discover my family's roots.  The depth of the research of Tim Lee, and presentation skills of Michael Sheedy, my 2 hosts for the day of discovery, are unsurpasssed.  I was truly impressed with the mother-lode of information with which I was presented and the amount of time they gave to show me all the different places my ancestors had lived, worked & worshiped.  I saw the actual spots of their homes, talked to the current owner of one property & even got to speak to a relative of a relative by phone. We even stumbled upon the graves of ancestors of one of the people I was looking for.  Probably the most impact was felt from the photographs that were unearthed in Tim's search. Also from knowing that even though my relatives no longer inhabit the area, their name has entered the common lexicon in the form of a "Haughney wind," a cold, bone-chilling wind from the East, which is what erased the last remnants of the family in Ireland in1932.

Thank you again for the tremendous amount of work you did for my whole family & Tim, thank you for the delicious lunch.

Gratefully,

Betty Gleason
