birth about 1782 Roscommon Ireland
 
John Tracey married Mary Flinn
Mary Flinn born about  1828 Roscommon Ireland
 
John and Mary found in 1851, 1871, and 1881 in Yorkshire England
 
Mary passed in Dec 1882 Yorkshire West Riding UK.  The following summer John came to the United States to be with his children who had already immigrated.  He passed away 19 Sept 1883  just 60+ days after arriving.

    Do you know where in Roscommon and Meath John and Mary were born?

     

    When doing genealogy research in Ireland one of hte main pieces of information you need is an exact location-preferably a parish name. Most Irish record sources- church records, land records, census records- are based on specific locations. Until you know a specific location within Ireland, preferably a parish or placename, it may be difficult to do anything more with these records.

    Do you have any documentation relating to either of them that mentions a placename such as townland/parish/village/town?

     

    Have you looked into John's emigration to the US, or even his children's emigration? Generally more information was given at the port of arrival rather than that of departure. If you knew what city he arrived in it may be a place to find more information, perhaps even an exact place of origin. Unfortunately, they may have listed England as their palce of origin if this is where they letf from..however it may be worth a try to check anyways.For immigration information in the US go to the following link:
