Looking for Callary/Callery relatives in Oldcastle Meath vic. My g grandfather John Callery emigrated to US in 1880s, his brother Rev Philip Callary founded the catholic school in Tullamore, his other brother Patrick emigrated to Australia and his sister Elizabeth married Joseph Marry and they had a large family elsewhere in Meath. Don't know if there were any other siblings who stayed in Meath and don't know the names of their parents but there was an uncle - also Rev Philip Callary.

Thanks

John Clark

  • Hi John, are you dure they were from Oldcastle? I can have a friend run a search if you are sure. have to be patient though. Nothing works fast in Ireland.

  • I got my information about the hometown of my Callerys from Irish articles about the two Revs Philip Callarys - one was the uncle and one was the brother of my G grandfather John Callery. (The name was spelled Callary in the Irish publications and Callery here in the US). A street in front of the Catholic school in Tullamore is named after Rev Callary. I can be patient, there had been no contact since the 1880s - that I know of! Thanks
