Looking for any information on Rickard family who lived at Scurlogstown in the 1800's.  Names are Christopher, Michael, Thomas, Catherine, Patrick, Mary (nee Gilmer/Gilmour).  Any help would be most appreciated.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

The 1854 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Trim civil parish only showed one Rickard record-- a Mary Rickard in Newhaggard townland. http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/meath/trim.htm  Scurlogstown is actually in Burry civil parish but there were no Rickard records http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/meath/burry.htm

Can you provide more dates on your Rickard family?

  • I was lucky to find the headstones of parents Christopher (1813 – 1848) and Mary (1810 – 1868 who I think is the person at Newhaggard) and 3 of their children in the Scurlogstown Cemetery near Trim a few years ago.  Three other children, Catherine, Thomas and Michael (born between 1834 &1843) came out to New Zealand in 1875, to join their brother, Patrick, who had arrived earlier. I would love to find out more about the family and extended family and if there are any records online for Scurlogstown. Your help is much appreciated.
