Hi.
I'm seeking the help of McMahon and McCarron families from the Donagh & Errigal Truagh areas.
My g.g.grandparents were Mary McMahon & Patrick McCarron. They were married in Donagh on 24 Oct 1850 and later went to live in Glasgow, Scotland, where they had 6 children - of which only 2 survived. They were; Ann, Patrick, James, John, Michael, John.
Mary McMahon was from Donagh, Monaghan, and was born circa 1820 to Michael McMahon & unknown Callaghan (death cert information).
Patrick McCarron was from Errigal Truagh and was born circa 1827. I've no further records for him, so don't have any parent names, etc.
If anyone has any information, or thinks they might be related, it would be great to hear from you.

There are some places where you can search online, however these websites do not have complete collections and many do not cover the period after 1900:
www.familysearch.org has a huge database of genealogical records including some church records for Ireland.
www.rootsireland.ie have a large collection of Irish Church records, however you have to pay to use this site.
I see Roger has mentioned the Griffith's Valuation (1847-1864) to you on a previous post, you can search it for free here:

Roman Catholic records for Donagh begin in 1836. For Trough parish records begin in 1835 for baptisms and 1837 for marriages. There are some missing dates for the Trough records though; for baptisms between March 1852 and March 1861 and for marriages between July 1849 and January 1862. Have a look at the sites suggested above and see how you get on.
