Margaret COYLE was born on May 10, 1830 at Smithboro, County Monaghan, Ireland. Her parents were Peter and Katherine (Clark or Clearkin) Coyle.
I was told by my uncle, Bill CLARK, that Margaret and Katherine are related to our CLARK/CLERKIN/CLEARKIN family.
Margaret was in the USA in Chicago where she married John FLANAGAN around 1857. There they had one daughter, Hannah, before moving on to Willow Springs town in Lafayette County, Wisconsin. They eventually settled in California by 1870.
I would like to find out if and how Margaret and her mother, Katherine are related to my CLERKINS/CLARKS.
My GG GF was Bernard CLERKIN bn County Monaghan about 1813. He married Ann McCARN/McCARRON 6 Feb 1839 at Kilmore Parish, Monaghan, her parish. He was from Killeevan Parish. They had 3 children: Michale, Thomas and Winfred.
Bernard later married Ellen MURPHY between 1844 and 1855. They had one daughter, Mary in 1855.
Bernard, Ellen and the 4 children by both marriages emigrated to the USA in 1857.
Bernard's family, and the above Margaret (COYLE) FLANAGAN's family were both living in Willow Springs town in Lafayette County, Wisconsin in 1860.
