I'm trying to locate my mother's gr, gr, gr, grandparents but have little to go on. Their names were Robert and Mary (Mitchell) McCarter and sailed to America in 1803. On the way, my mother's gr, gr grandfather John was born at sea. That's all I have. I did notice that the first generation in America were buried in a Presbyterian cemetery in Chester county Pa. I'm wondering if they might have lived in Northern Monaghan county Ireland as there were Irish Presbyterians there. In the Tithe Appointments of the 1820's, there were McCarter's located in Monaghan county. How would I research this? Thanks for any help or insights, Randy
