My name is Kevin Caughlin and my 3rd great grandfather is Edward Coghlan who was born in 1800 (Roots Ireland baptismal record indicates in Shinrone, Address is Killballyskea) and his father's name was John (mother unknown). Edward married Lucinda Pike? from Modreeny (Tipperary) in Dunkerrin in 1832. They had an address in Corraclevin. They emigrated to Canada in 1834. They travelled with two children, John (born circa 1831) and Sarah (baptismal record 1833 in Dunkerrin).
My wife and I are travelling to Ireland from Canada over the next two weeks and will be in Offaly on Saturday, July 20th. I would like to connect with someone who might be able to give me a bit more of my family's history.
