My GG grandfather was Martin Gready b 1825 in Roscrea. He left for Australia in 1850. Trying to find any descendants in the area and noticed a Martin Gready born to a Philip Gready and Sarah Harden in Kilcolman Co Offaly. Wondering if there is anyone connected to this Kilcolman family who may know if they are related to our Martin from Roscrea?

I am Parish Liaison for Kilcolman, Co Offaly. I have looked at the online records for Kilcolman parish and cannot find one for the Gready baptism. I found a record of Philip Gready born to Martin and Dora Murphy on 22.7.1867 in Roscrea. There is also one of Martin born to Philip Gready and Sarah Harden on 1/12/1867. This is the record I looked for but could not see any between end of November and second week in December in the online parish records. Is this the record you are referring to? Can you let me know where you saw the reference to Kilcolman and then I may be able to help you further as this particular record may not have been captured on microfilm. Also Harding (Harden is not a usual spelling) and Grady (also the more common spelling) are surnames pertaining to this parish. I can see also that Philip Grady (possibly the one in that birth record) died aged 10 in 1877.
