Hi, aim interested in the family if Martin Furlong and Margaret Sta(u)nton from Tullamore. My 2xgreat grandmother was their daughter. She married James Sherry (county of origin unknown) and moved with the railways to Gorey in wexford. In the 1880s they and all their famil emigrated to Australia. There is no indication the family were in Tullamore before the 1840s and I'm wondering where they might have come from.

There are 2 Furlongs in King's County in the Tithe Applotments (free at http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/) in 1825-30 so they could have been there before 1840.

There are none in the Irish Census of 1821 however.
