Was Kate Quigley of Ballymoe, 20 F single, who landed in NYC on the Cunard Campania 31 August 1900, a former resident of a house in Springlawn (Ballynakill, Galway) where Thomas and Bridget Quigley were heads of family in 1901 National Census? Catherine (Kate) Quigley is my paternal grandmother.

Melia, Maria of Ballymoe, F single, accompanied Kate Quigley on voyage to the U.S.

There are four Ballynakill civil parishes in Co. Galway. One in Ballymoe barony, a second in Killian barony, a third in Ballynahinch barony and the fourth in Leitrim barony. The Quigley family in Springlawn lived in Ballynakill parish in Killian barony which is in the Mountbellew registration district. I looked for Catherine/Kate birth index records in the Mountbellew district and only found a record for a Kate Quigley born in 1886 which does not match your age 20.

The only birth record in Co. Galway that fits is an 1879 record in the Loughrea registration district. See below. Do you know for sure that the parents of your grandmother were Thomas and Bridget?
