I am looking for information on the Oates family. I know that my ancestor, Patrick, was christened in 1832 in Killukin and that his parents were John Oates and Margaret Donlan. Patrick married Catherine Brady in Lockport, NY, about 1859. I'd love to find out more about Patrick's parents. Thank you!

I looked at the 1855 Griffiths Valuation survey head of household listing for Killukin civil parish.There was a John Oates listed in Ardmore townland. If your John was still alive in 1855 possibly this record pertains to him.
