I am researching all of the brooks families from south county roscommon. I am looking to exchange information with anybody researching any of these families. they are mostly from the area known as Taughmaconnell.

    Hopefully someone researching these families will be in contact with you. It might be a good idea to contact the South East Galway Archaeological and Historical Society as well to see if they have any relevant publications/contacts as Taughmaconnell lies between Athlone and Ballinasloe.

  • Try contacting Fr neilan 

    Parish Priest of Taughmaconnell.   A man called Joe Brooks passed away a few weeks ago from Carrowreagh, Taughmaconnell.  He was aged 98 a wonderful active community man right up until his death.
