    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Do you know Catherine's parents names? Roots Ireland has baptismal records in 1835, 1836, 1837 and 1839 in Co. Roscommon. Surnames are Kane and Kain.

  • Hello,  I am looking for information on My G,G,Grandfather Augustinus Cain who Married Catherina Boyd on the 15th September 1851 At the Parish of Glinsk Dioces Elphin,Galway,Roscommon,Ireland. I found this info. on the Irish Genealogy Site. Their names also show up on the Death Registers of their Son James Cain/Kane (Died in Scotland1917) his name changed to Kane when he came over to Scotland. There was a John Cain born 14th June 1864 Roscommon, Roscommon, Ireland to a Augustus Kane and Catherine Boyd.(I haven't been able to verify if he is a son of A & C).

There was an Augustine Cain born around 1804 in Roscommon but I can't connect Him to My Augustinus Cain.Any help on My G,G,Grandfather and Family would be much appreciated.    Stay Safe.

    All the Best

  • Hello,  Sorry I mistakened the Replies for the ? section.(Cally/Fitz) but I had a look at your ?   As Roger asked if you have any more Information on Catherine and Her Parents. Such as Catherines Place of Birth. Roscommon has a number of Parish names and Dioces.

I checked for Catherine in Roscommon,Roscommon 21st January 1838 and couldn't find Her. Also checked for a John Cain & Mary Cain Births 1814) in Galway without any success. (Irish Genealogy Site). Difficult to search without a Parish. Is Cain Marys maiden name?

I did find a John Cain married Mary Kenny  9th April 1835  in Parish of Kilmoylan, Dioces of Taum, County Galway Sponsors Stephen Joyce and Peggy Joyce. If you check on the Irish Genealogy Site (Free Site) you will be able to see the information 1st Hand.  I f you need any more Help just ask. I myself have found lots of people on this Site willing to lend a hand. Stay Safe.

    All the Best
