    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I searched on Roots Ireland and unfortunately I did not get any baptismal records for Francis Flanagan and Bridget Gallagher nor did I find any sibling records. They obviously belonged to parishes that no longer have records back to the early 1840s.

I also looked at the 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Co. Roscommon and there were too many James Flanagan and Patrick Gallagher records in Roscommon to isolate a possible record. Also, there were many Roscommon families who left Ireland for America/Canada/England/Australia/New Zealand during the Great Hunger (late 1840s).

Have you considered autosomal DNA testing?

  • Thank you Roger, yes I have done DNA testing, so fingers crossed a match will surface. Regards Kathy
