Try a search of www.rootsireland.ie and www.irishgenealogy.ie for these folks. I cant seem to find them at first glance but the surname shepherd is unusual so you may get lucky.
I looked at the irish census for 1911 and searched for John Shepherd. I found a john Shepherd in Co. Down who had his father in law named Joseph Lernon staying with him??
I found a number of Mary Elizabeth Lennons in the census, so maybe this is where you coulod concentrate your attention for the start.
