I am looking for my Grandfather Joseph Martin Murphy. I know he was born in County Roscommon but not where in Roscommon. He was born on Dec 26, 1874 to Edward and Catherine Murphy. He arrived in Boston on either April 26, 1892 or June 12, 1892. I can follow him until his death in 1934, but cannot find him in Ireland. I have been all over the Internet but cannot find him.

Do you have Joseph's death record and does it show his mother's maiden name? I looked at Roots Ireland in Roscommon for a 20 year period 1864-1884 and could not locate a baptismal record or civil birth record for a Joseph Murphy with parents Edward and Catherine. There was a Joseph Murphey in 1866 with a mother Catherine. I also looked for Martin Murphys and there are a few but not with the Edward Catherine combination.
