Is Ireland Reaching Out only for Co. Galway?

I think my grandparents were from Leitrim and Roscommon.

How can  I get parish records from those counties?

  • Hi Anne,

We are in the process of rolling out as a nationwide endeavour. It is now possible to join the "Roscommon" page by clicking on the "Home" link on the Roscommon menu and then clicking on "Join Parish".

Doing this allows you to post messages to the Roscommon message board.

Thanks a lot for your query,

  • Hi Anne McManus - many McManus people come from western County Cavan and near-by County Leitrim. I have some McManus kin from the Cavan villages of Blacklion and Glangevlin in my family tree. Can you post some names and dates here, and I can do some research? Thanks and welcome.   Mike McGovern from New York and Long Island, New York.

  • Based on Family Tree DNA testing results my McManus family are descendants of Magnus Miogharan O'Conor of Tir Thuathail (Kilronan), Co. Roscommon, Ireland. I have no documented information related to this connection other than the DNA. My family settled in Gasconade & Franklin Counties, Missouri, USA and probably migrated from Philadelphia. Due to the early time frame, pre-1800's, it has not been possible to trace the family back to Ireland. Please provide any suggestions that may help locate my ancestors in Ireland.
