Hi
My gg grandfather was Patrick Donlon c 1834 from Roscommon who married Mary Carless c 1838 (maybe Carlos). They moved to Newcastle-u-Lyme, Staffordshire and had 9 children. Their eldest child was born in Newcastle in1855. I don't know if they married in Ireland or Newcastle. Both Patrick and Mary came from Roscommon but I don't know what Parish. Can anyone advise me how to find which parish TIA

Anne-Marie:
Roots Ireland www.rootsireland.ie has an 1852 marriage record for Patrick Donlon and Mary Carlos in the Strokestown RC records. Possibly this is your family. Although if your Mary Carless/Carlos was born in 1838 then it is unlikely the marriage record pertains to them.
Roots also has 12 baptismal records in Co. Roscommon for a Patrick Donlon between 1832-1836. Four of the 12 are in the Strokestown RC records.
Strokestown is in two civil parishes--Bumlin and Kiltrustan.
Roots is a pay site to view transcriptions of church records. They recently started a subscription process.
