I am looking to find the parents names for:

John Banahan and Catherine Fox, suspect married before 1856, maybe Ballinameen, Roscommon.

Also

James Conry and Honor Kelly, suspect maried before 1817, Cloonyquin, Elphin, Roscommon.

Any clues as to where I can look.

Thank you

Patrick

I searched the Roots Ireland indexes from 1840-1860 for a marriage record for John Banahan and Catherine Fox and got no record. The records for Ballinameen, however, do not start until 1859 which if they were married in the that church prior to 1856, would explain why I could not find the record.

I also searched for the James Conry/Honor Kelly marriage from 1803-1823. There were three James Conry marriages in that period but none to a Kelly. One of the marriages was in Elphin in 1813 but the surname was not Kelly and the given name was Bridget.

Let me know if you have questions.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you.

Thank you for looking into this for me.

I also had no luck with familysearch.org and rootsireland.ie looking for marrage of John Banahan & Catherine Fox or James Conry & Honor Kelly. I was hoping to go back one more generation.

James and Honor look good for the parents of Matthew Conry from my first post last week. Serveral of their children were born in Cloonyquin and Honor/Honoria would be head of household that you pointed me to in Griffiths Valuation. Matthew's 1st born named James and 2nd was Honoria. Makes sense to me.

I also found Terrence Conry and Catherine Mcmanus with two children born at Cloonyquin. Catherine would have been the 2nd widow at Cloonyquin in the Grittith's. I don't know if James and Terrence are brothers or cousin's without going back farther.

I could not find a for sure birth or death of either James or Terrence Conry.

I still have to fax form to get marrage and hopfully father's name for John Henchy.

On a personal note, it looks like we are coming your way in July. Would you know of, or how to find any living Conry's, decendents of Matthew Conry & Margaret Banahan. My wife, Maureen is one of their Great grand daughters. Might be a good thing to meet while we are there.

    Thanks again for your help.

Sorry for the delayed response. I've been locked out from posting comments since Tuesday but now have access.

I wish we could meet in July but I live in Maryland USA.

Go to the online Irish phonebook http://www.eircomphonebook.ie/#

enter Conry in County Roscommon  Make sure you hit the Residential Tab. You will get four Conry entries. One of them lives in Cloonyquin.
