Hello, I am the great great great grandson of Martin Rutledge and Mary Anna Cox.

They emigrated to Toronto Canada post famine pre 1860 via Winchester England

Their first born son was Robert Martin Joseph Rutledge born 1855 Winchester and

emigrated to Toronto, and had 4 more children.  His Brother was one Thomas Rutledge.

They were Catholic from County Roscommon, Tibohine Parish. Would anyone there know of them?

  • The 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Tibohine parish only showed one Rutledge-- a James of Creevy townland. Possibly he is related to Martin.

If your ancestors were Roman Catholic, the Mormon Church has microfilmed the church records for the parish of Lisacull and Loughglynn. Although there are some gaps, baptisms go back to 1817.

You can order the film online www.familysearch.org  and have it shipped from Salt Lake City to a Family History Center hopefully near you. You cna view the film at the FHC.
