www.sligo.rootsireland.ie has Kilmacteige births starting in August 1845 and marriages starting in 1848. Roots is a pay site to see the actual records. The Mormon church has also microfilmed the Kilmacteige records (same years). The film can be ordered online at www.familysearch.org and sent to a local Mormon Family History Center near you.https://familysearch.org/search/catalog/78556?availability=Family%20History%20Library

records are online and many linked bacck to the census records. All one need do is order the BMD Certs once your target person/family  is confirmed as a marriage cert. or birth would confirm many things if it is the correct person

  • Hi Maureen,

I am not sure if you will see this but my great grand uncle, John Maye, was baptised in Kilmacteige on November 10, 1857. His parents were Bernard Maye and Bridget (Mc)Ginty and his baptism was witnessed by a Michael McHugh and Ellen Ginty. Could this Michael be him?
