Quigley from Sligo to NYC?

I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and there were no William Quigley baptismal records in Co. Sligo prior to 1870. Likely your William was baptized in a parish that no longer has records back to the 1830s.

You might also consider checking the National Library of Ireland parish registers which may have parishes not listed on Roots Ireland.  

In addition, John Grenham has a website that denotes the surnames and where they are situated in the mid19th century.  There are 29 households with the name Quigley in County Sligo.  It might be worth checking out.  Here is the link:  https://www.johngrenham.com/findasurname.php?surname=Quigley

Roots Ireland is great for the large number of records that it holds, but unfortunately, they do not hold all parish registers.  However, some of them may be on the National Library of Ireland website, or held at the Church of Ireland Library (if Church of Ireland denomination).  I will ask one of our Sligo volunteers who may be able to narrow the search down for you.  

I would recommend that you look at the list and the parishes where the surname existed in1858.  Thatmay be a good place to start.  I have screenshotted the photo for you, but you can use the above link to view it too.

I went down a Sligo rabbit hole (in the wrong direction) for my Quigley's. Checking my old notes, here are couples that were having children in Sligo in the 1830-40's:

Daniel Quigley/Mary Lavin

John Quigley/Peggy Drury

James Quigley/Mary Meegan

Michael Quigley/Hanna Mcgetrick

Ed Quigley/Catherine Breheny

Thomas Quigley/Honora Henderson

Patrick Quigley/Mary Bushleon

If you submitted DNA on Ancestry or My Heritage, I would check those maternal surnames and see if you match with anyone that connects back to Sligo. For example: If you had a ton of "matches" that connect back to Lavin for various reasons, plus Sligo, then that would narrow it down to Daniel and Mary.
