This is a wonderful organization.  I believe my gggrandfather, Patrick Kennedy, born 1818, died in 1851, and was buried in Aglishcloghane, by his father Daniel Kennedy.  Patrick left a widow, Margaret ('May') Grace Kennedy, who left for America with her young son.  Any information aboout this family would be wonderful.  Thank you.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

The Catholic parish for Aglishcloghane civil parish is Borrisokane. I checked their records on the Roots Ireland indexes and there was an 1846 marriage of a Patrick Kennedy to a Margaret. I could not determine her maiden name. There was also an 1847 baptismal record in the same church for a Thomas Kennedy born to parents Patrick and Margaret.

I don't know if these records are related to your family.

Roots is a subscription site. Later this summer the National Library of Ireland plans to put all RC parish registers online for free searching.

I also looked at the 1850 Griffiths valuation head of housuehold listing for Aglishcloghane parish and there were a number of Kennedys inclujding one Patrick and three Daniels.

We also have an active IRO group in the area. Here is a link to their Facebook page.
