Husband's grandmother, Mary Ann Doherty came to Brooklyn, NY with her parents, sister Kate and brother William in 1908. Her father was Jeremiah Doherty whose parents were Edmund Doherty and Catherine O'Brien. Her mother was Julia Ryan Doherty and we have no info about her parents. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you!

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I was unable to locate a civil marriage record for Jeremiah and Julia on the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie. A civil marriage record would show the name of her father and where they lived. Also, did not find a church marriage reocrd on the subscription site Roots Ireland.

I did locate the 1901 census record for the family. They were living in Cloghanhue townland in Sollogheadmore civil parish southwest of Donohill civil parish.

  • Hi NKMiles,

I have read your post about your Doherty family connection.

I have family links to Doherty (or Doorty) in Donohill Co. Tipperary.

I have a Catherine Doherty baptised on 30 Jan 1848 at the Immaculate Conception RC Church in Donohill.

Can you check your records and let me know if your Catherine Doherty's Birth / Baptism dates are consistent with my dates?

    Thank you

    Colin
