I am descended from James Hogan and Ann Carroll of Borrisokane. Their son, Rhody, was born Oct. 3, 1825. Rhody came to New York around 1849 and settled on Staten Island where he married Alice Cummings. James and Ann had 7 other children, Bridget, Daniel, John, Margaret, William, Anna and Mary. I was able to find some church records for the family when I visited Nenagh about 20 years ago but haven't been able to find much since then. I would be interested in connecting with anyone who is also researching this family.

The 1850 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Borrisokane parish lists three James Hogans. Looks like a father and son in Liskinlahan and another James in Tower Hill.

The Roots Ireland indexes have four Hogan baptisms from 1815-1835 with parents James and Ann. When I add Carroll to the search, only two records show up. One is a Mary in 1825 and the other was Ann in 1821.
