Searching for descendants or relatives of Richard Cornwall and Catherine O'Halloran, married February 1852 in Borrisokane RC parish church. Is Richard buried locally? Wife Catherine and three sons emigrated to Canada about 1856-8.

  • Hello!

My great-great grandmother, Ann A. Haskett, was born 16 May 1817 in Ireland.  It is believed that she is from Borrisokane, Tipperary.  She came to New York when 10 years old (about 1827), but I don't know if she came with her family, or who they were, but on census reports she said they were both born in Ireland.  She married Charles Alexander on Jan 6, 1839, when she was 21.  Andrew's mother was born in New York but his father was from Ireland, so possibly the families knew each other in Ireland. They were married by an Episcopal Minister named Reverend Hawkum in Buffalo, New York.  Their children may have been named after grandparents, and they were:  Ann Mariah, William L, Charles A., Emma Amanda, Lydia J., Hannah Della, Myron S., Leonard Evander, and Charles Isaiah.  I have one copy of a photo of Ann Haskett taken in older age.

If anyone knows anything about the Hasketts of Borrisokane, I would be delighted to get more information!

    Thanks!
