I am searching for the ancestors of Phillip Balfry of Dunvullen, Co. Limerick born 1738 died 1835. He is possibly the son of George Balfry whose gravestone is in St John's Cememetry, Knockainey but I have no documentary evidence of this. Can anyone throw any light on this old established Caherconlish family?

Hi after this inordinate period of time I have been tasked to look at unanswered queries and still no assistance, I cannot find the name in McLysaghts Surnames of Ireland nor on John Greham's site, free surname search but subscription site. I do see 4 Limerick births 1790 to 1810 to the name both Balfrey and Balfry, on one mother O'Donnell. (Roots Ireland)
You could contact Limerick Library and Archives tmeo see if the local history person has any information. Sometimes private local Facebook groups will get all over a query like this.
