I'm looking into my family history and would like more information about my great-great grandfather James Patrick Maloney born about March 1864 in Ireland. From verbal past on history, I've heard he's from Cahir, Tipperary. He immigrated to Philadelphia, PA before 1890. From his death certificate, his parents were John Maloney and Margaret Keating. If you can find any information about them I'd be very grateful. I'm not sure if the spelling of the last name was the same in Ireland as it is in the U.S.

Thanks,

Kelly

  • Thanks for all the hard work you put into this! So are the Marriage records of the Dioceses of Cashel and Emly of South Tipperary on line or are both the baptismal and marriage not on line?

  • Wow! Thank you! This really looks like him.

Other than the father's name which could honestly be a mistake of second hand reporting. Considering his first son was named Thomas it makes sense his father's name would be Thomas. Also from his marriage certificate looks like his birthday would've been March 7, 1866 which makes sense with a baptism date of March 17.

    Thank you!

Do you know who the original father of the three Moloney families are?
