Marjorie:
I checked the Roots Ireland indexes. I could not locate a baptismal record for Joseph Wall back around 1805. I did find his marriage record to Ann Long in the Modreeny/Cloughjordan Church of Ireland records. Records for this church go back to 1827.
Only 3 Church of Ireland churches in North Tipperary have records back to 1805 which explains why I could not locate a baptismal record for Joseph which would have shown his parents names.

Thank you so much for that info. I have the records of his descendants in Canada. Moses Wall's family also have theirs, but we have never been able to connect them. They settled in different areas and at different times.

I don't know if this will be any help, but... I have a George Guest married to Mary Ann Long( he was a widower when he married the young Mary Ann). He lived in Cowbawn. Query church records in Parish of Modreeny, Dioceses of Killahoe, Co Tipperary. But they were married in Canada in 1883.
George Guest b.1843 would be my grt grt grandfather's brother.Their father was Thomas Guest, who married Elizabeth Dagg (Fanny).
I don't know when they emigrated from Cloughjordan Co Tipperary to Canada, but the approx date would be before 1850
The Dagg's were also from this area.

I also have a John Wall who married Ellen Dagg, she was from Modreeny. They emigrated to Canada approx 1837, and lived in Russell Ontario. The Daggs were from Modreeny, but some of the children were born in Borrisokane.
