Looking for Patrick C Powers who emigrated to America in Nov 1845 w/ pregnant wife Ellen (or Helen) Keogh (or Kehoe; or McKeogh), who actuallyy gave birth to their first son, Michael Adirondack Powers days before reaching port in NYC.  Patrick was thought to be from Nenagh Tipperary.  According to ship records (ship name: Adirondack), he also traveled with possibly his brother, Roger. Any/all help would be greatly appreciated.  Feel free to contact me directly at lisahavey@att.net

  • Hi Lisa,

There are 15 records of Patrick powers born 1820 + - 5 years on www.rootsireland.ie/

There seems to be a discrepancy in his age on ancestry - age 25 on the passenger list in 1845 = born 1820 but censuses have it 1825 or 1826

    There is 1 match for 1820 birth, none for 1826 & 2 for 1827 so it's down to 3

I checked the parishes of all 3 but Nenagh is not in the list as the 3 were all South Tipperary & Nenagh is north.

I tried to find Roger Powers's birth to narrow it down but the only Tipperary records are 1841 1867 & 1886 & all Power!

    Col
