Hi there. I am from Australia, and what I am asking may sound a bit pedantic, but I would like to know the actual location of where my 2nd great parents’ house stood. To give me a better understanding of the location, I would appreciate if one of the local town folk people be kind enough to take a few photos of the actual location and surrounding areas of where the house stood, please.
The address of the house as shown in the Irish census is - Ballinlough, Golden, Tipperary, Ireland
In a document that I have been supplied with, it states that the ancestral home stood near the bridge over the Multeen River at Ballinlough. It was on the left-hand side a couple hundred yards from the bridge as you approached from Ballinamona road Junction. There was another house that stood next door and the owner’s name was Dalton which was connected by marriage.
In the 1901 & 1911 Irish Census, my 2nd great grandfather William Morrissey (1824 – 1913) was listed as the head of the house at No.3 (in 1901) and No. 4 (in 1911) respectively. I have googled earth the area where it has given me an idea of the surrounding location, but I don’t get a clear view.

Colin, I am looking over unaswered queries as requested by the admin here. I have no access to the are as I live about 150 miles away but if no one sent you an answer you could try one of the Tipperary private Facebook pages, just apply to join. You might find a local who could do it for you.

Hi Pat,
A few weeks after I had made that post, I decided to try my luck with one of the FB groups I am with. Yes, one of the locals who stated that she lived 10 minutes from the area of where I had mentioned, actually drove down to the area and took some lovely photos and forwarded them to me. With those photos, it gave me an understanding of how things are demographically.
