I'm looking for more information on my great great grandparents, Joseph Sharpe and Margaret Quinlan. I've gotten a lot from family stories and the 1901/1911 Census, but i'm still missing some info and don't know where to start. In particular, I'm looking to find the names of their parents, their birthdates, where in Roscrea they might be buried, and the dates of their deaths.

Margaret Quinlan was born in 1845 and was first married to William Kinna in Roscrea in 1865. When he passed away, she married Joseph Sharpe in Roscrea, in 1874.

Joseph Sharpe was born abt 1847 in Roscrea.

Joseph and Margaret had 8 or 9 children, including my Great Granfather John. I know there are still some of his children (my great aunts!) living in Roscrea.

The Sharpes had a pub on Limerick St, and it stayed in the family until fairly recently (late 90's early 2000's?) - i think it was known as Cordial House before it sold, but I'm not sure. 

Thanks in andvance for any assistance. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about my family before my first trip to Ireland in 2016!

    We have volunteers in the Roscrea area so you will likely hear from them.

    I did locate the civil marriage index record. You can get a copy of the record from the General Register Office www.groireland.ie for around 4 euros. The civil record will show the names of the fathers of the bride and groom and where the bride and groom were living in 1874. I also checked Roots Ireland www.rootsireland.ie and they have both the church record (Roscrea RC parish) and the civil record (Roscrea civil record). Roots is a pay site to see the transcription of records but you would get the civil info faster as opposed to writing to the GRO.
