Am still looking for information on the Ryan family who lived in Curraduff and migrated to Australia in 1841.   John Ryan married Julia Shanahan in 1826 and they came with five of their children.   I believe they had a son Timothy who was born in 1829 but must have died before them came to Australia as he is not on the immigration records but have not found any death record for him in Ireland.    Have lots of info after they arrived but would really like more information on Ireland history.    I believe that John's mother may have been Judith Duanne and his father was James Ryan.   Also think he had a brother James Ryan who married Mary Bourke (Burke).    We believe also that he had two brothers who also came to Australia but need more Irish info to be able to track them.

I was going thru some old messages and find your message with no local contact. I found these two records on Roots Ireland and thought I would share as a lead. Loughmore RC parish is just to the north of Templemore. The first couple also had a James.

Thanks for that information it is certainly another lead to follow.    I have since found out that the James Ryan/Mary Burke is no connection to my James Ryan.   Have recently done an Ancestry DNA test but have not found any connections so far from that.   I certainly believe that my gggrandfather John Ryan was not an only child so somewhere out there is the world is a relative I just would love to find them.   I believe that John was born in the late 1700s as his death certificate states he was 95 years old when he died in 1892.    I also acknowledge that there could be a couple of years discrepancy there so will try and track down  the birth for 1799.

I have also tried from the Irish Naming System to see if I could work out who his parents were but not to sure that it works with this Ryan family.     Certainly when they arrived in Australia it seemed to be all over the place.

    Thanks again for the lead

Will let you know how things go

    Regards
