My ancestor was John Maher who married Mary Delahunty sometime before 1833. They had a son John Patrick Maher who was born in 1833 in Shanakill, Templemore, Tipperary. John Patrick was baptised on 14 Feb 1833. I have been told but can't verify that both his parents died when he was very young & he was raised by an Aunt. I have John Patricks history from when he married Bridget O'Meara in Liverpool England in 1863 & emigrated to Australia the same year. John Maher & Mary Delahunty would be my great great great grandparents.
