Hi,

My husband Gene's grandmother, Nonie Fox, was born in Terryglass in the early 1900s and came over to America in 1926.  Nonie's parents were Anthony and Henrietta Fox.  Siblings were Patrick, Thomas and Winifred.

We are planning to visit for the first time in the summer of 2018 and would love to meet any family who may still be there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Karen Campbell

PS - She may have lied about her year of birth - so any help in discovering her true date of birth would be wonderful.  She was born September 6, but unsure of the year.  One record shows 1904, but others show 1908...

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

We have some active parish liaisons in Terryglass so I will alert them to your message and visit in 2018.

www.irishgenealogy.ie now has the civil birth record images for free viewing from 1864-1915. Terryglass would be in the Borrisokane registration district. Not sure what Nonie's given name was officially but if you do a wide search 1898-1906 you should find her record.

  • Thank you so much, Roger.  Success!  Her given name was Norah and I followed your advice and found that she was born in 1904.

    Thanks again for your help!

Would appear to be Norah Fox born Ballinderry Terryglass parish  date of Baptism given as Sept 9 1904 with siblings as you state

Will get back to you hopefully later today when we  have more information
