I any information on my ggg granfather's John Casey who married Mary O'Neill, they are from Tipperary, but do not know which parish they are from. Their children are Nora (could be variants in spelling), Jack, Frank and Thomas (gg grandfather) b. 1844 d. 5 Jan 1909 in NZ
Nora has a famous opera singer in her family line, Heather Begg.
John & Mary travelled to NZ with their 4 children. John may have been called by the British army to fight in the NZ land wars. John was wounded during the wars and dies later from his injuries.
Mary came from a wealthy family, her father was a doctor and John came from a common family so parents were against the marriage.
From family hearsay the Casey children played with Rev Samuel Thomas's children on the ship they sailed on to NZ, after some research I found out they came on the Fairy Queen in 1850 to Auckland leaving from London. Mary fell in love with an English soldier while sailing to NZ whom she ended up marrying after her husband died.
We do not know the name of this English soldier but know him and Mary had 4 children, maybe all girls. One of the children was named Ada, who my gg grandmother was named after.
I am looking for the parish my ggg grandparents were married, the details of their births and marriage.
I would also like to know the full births of the other children and where they were born.
If possible I would also like to know the name of the English soldier that was the 2nd husband to my ggg grandmother and the details of his birth and where he was from.
This is the 2nd time I have posted this info so posting it under 'Tipperary' might be of more help.

The civil registration of births in Ireland did not become mandatory until 1864 so prior to this all birth/marriage records were kept by the local parish church. Most of these records are still held locally, which means that in order to find them you really do need to know what parish to look in. Unfortunately, this makes it more difficult for you as you are trying to find the parish.
Do you have any documentation pertaining to the family that mentions any place names in Tipperary at all? This can include wills, marriage/death records,census records, letters, diary entries etc.
There are some places where you can search online, however it may be difficult to discern whether the results are relevant to your family or not without more information:
www.familysearch.org has a huge database of genealogical records including some church records for Ireland.
www.rootsireland.ie have a large collection of Irish Church records, however you have to pay to use this site.
It may be an idea to contact one of the Family History Centres in Tipperary for some further assistance, however a fee may apply. Here are their email addresses:
