I just posted this on the Coolmundry parish page, but since that parish is not currently active, and mine is the only message on that message board, and I'm not quite positive it's the right parish, I am posting it here too.

I am descended from an Ellen Morrissey, born about 1847 in a place called Friar's Grange (or Friarsgrange?) in Tipperary, which I believe is in Coolmundry parish. I am pretty sure her parents' names were William and Margaret, and very sure she had a sister named Alice and a brother (or possibly a cousin) named Edward, and all three of them (Ellen, Alice and Edward) came to Newark, New Jersey, USA. She married William Thomas Kelly in Belleville, New Jersey in 1866. I would love to know more about the Morrissey family.

    Both are in Co. Waterford

  • I am trying to locate info on my great-great-grandparents. I think her maiden name was Katherine Herrick (Nov 1859) but not sure, and his was William Morrissey (Dec 1849, possible died in Kilcash). I would like to locate where they were married and/or burried if possible. My Co Tipperary is the extent of my info on them. Mary Katherine Morriessey 10/7/1882 bdate, is my Great-Grandmother. I am unsure when she came to America but she was here by the time my Grandmother was born 4/24/1912. Any assistance would be most appreciated!
