There is a record of the baptism of the Tipperary Patrick Hogan with father Michael and mother Alice on www.rootsireland.ie/ (a pay per view site)  - but it is 1841

Altogether there are 9 baptism records for this couple (Alice but not Cosgrove):

So no Denis or Kate I'm afraid

Col,

I have a copy of his wedding certificate and his death certificate. In 1885 he was 31 years old. He died in 1894 at 39 years of age. Both records indicate that his mother's name was Alice Cosgrove. My sister has letters from his brother Denis.
