Hello Tipperary, The majority of my ancestors came from Tipperary. To make matters more difficult both my Maternal Grandparents have the name Dwyer. For this post I am concentrating on my Grandmothers side. Her parents were James Dwyer & Mary McCredmond married in Melbourne Australia in 1856. The following details were gathered from their marriage and death certificates.
James Dwyer born abt 1820-1822 Tipperary farm labourer arrived Vic on "Aurora" 31 March 1850.
parents John Dwyer (farmer) and Margaret Quirk
Mary McRedmond born 1835 Kings County (2 possibility on assisted passenger list)
parents Edward McCredmond (farmer) and Jane Meagher
I would love to know where in Tipperary they came from and if they had siblings.
Cheers from Australia

Hello Treasa,
I went to www.rootsireland.ie and searched for the baptismal record of Mary, but couldn't find it. However I did find a marriage record for her parents.
Edward Mcredmond married Jane Meagher in the parish of Dunkerrin, North Tipperary, in 1834
Dunkerrin is on the border of Offaly (Kings County) and North Tipperary. This explains why the record is found in Tipperary. If you are ever searching for relatives who lived on a border then always check the records of the neighbouring county.
The fact that Mary's baptismal record in not online doesn't mean that it isn't there at all. It is probbly in a church register and just got missed when transcribing the records. This has happened to me personally.
Hope this helps,
regards,

I have now found a brother for Mary born 1835 in Kilcolman Co. Offaly in diocese of Killaloe. Is that near Dunkerrin?

Hello Treasa,
Yes Kilcolman is quite near Dunkerrin but as far as I know (and I stand to be corrected) it falls into a different parish.

Hi Treasa,
I'm so pleased to hear that you have finally found Mary. All your persistance has paid off. It's great to have the parish registers online now, and even though they are not digitised and searchable you can search through them when you have time.
All the best,
Anne Dennehy
