Jacobus"James" McCrystal was born in 1841 in Clogher, Tyrone, Northern Ireland, the son of Helena and Petrus. He married Maria "Mary" Treanor or Traynor on November 15, 1868, in his hometown. They had two children during their marriage.

My great grandfather was Patrick McCrystal who was born on November 25, 1869, in Tyrone, Northern Ireland, his father, Jacobus"James", was 28 and his mother, Maria, was 18. He married Rose Anne Turbit on June 13, 1895, in Ireland. They had ten children in 19 years. He died on February 22, 1951, in Belfast, Antrim, Northern Ireland, at the age of 81.

Anyone know anything about their ancestors would be greatly appreciated.

I looked for a will for Patrick but did not find one. His death certificate is on the GRONI site. You might want to view it to see who the informant was. It will also tell you whether his wife pre-deceased him.

  • Rachel,

I am somehow related to Trainor/McCrystal from Tyrone and the Turbitt surname is in my working tree.

Do you know if they have any of these surnames in their tree-Tracey,Mcguire,McWilliams,McGirr?

    Thanks
