Hello researchers,
I am looking for some help finding the parents or siblings of Richard Gilpin (1752-1835) of Copney and his wife Mary Bortree (1761-1842) of Cohannan. They were married at St Andrew's parish, Killyman, Tyrone, Ireland on 12 Apr 1781. They emigrated around 1810 and settled in area of Sterling, Wayne County, Pennsylvania, US.
They had the following children who all emigrated as well:
Sarah Gilpin (1784-1865) m. Abraham Heazleton (1768-1857)
Eliza Gilpin (1789-1869) m. Edward Bortree (1790-1860)
Ann Gilpin (1792-1870) m. John Bortree (1788-1867)
William Gilpin (1794-1881) m. Sarah Bortree (1802-1842)
Mary Jane Gilpin (1797-1881) m. Jesse Bowman Ransbury (1795-1860)
Richard Gilpin Jr (1880-1870) m. Eliza Bennett (1808-1886)
John Robert Gilpin (1802-1881) m. Susannah Bortree (1811-1885)
Thomas Gilpin Sr (1806-1844) m. Mary Jane Dobson (1811-1842)

Hello, I am posting a reply to a request for information on descendants of Richard Gilpin and Mary Bortree. I believe I am a descendant and would love to be in contact to discuss this. From what I've found online, this is my lineage (I can't seem to hit return so sorry this is a block of text): Julia Burzon (me) daughter of Alice C (Gilpin) Burzon, daughter of Posten Bennett Gilpin (and Marion E (Shelbert) Gilpin), son of Perry Gilpin, son of Jeremiah B Gilpin, son of Richard Gilpin Jr. (born into Ireland & moved to PA, who was married to Eliza Bennett, which is what the common middle innitial B stands for in the male line), son of Richard Gilpin Sr. (married to Mary Bortree in Tyrone, Ireland). I still own some of the original parcel of Gilpin land in South Sterling, Wayne/Pike counties, Pennsylvania. Sincerely, Julia K Burzon
