My greatgreatgrandfather Michael Fitzgerald was born around 1832 near Dungarvan, Waterford, possibly Aglish, Graigue, believed to have been baptized in Abbeyside.  His father's name was Bartholomew Fitgerald, his mother Mary Veale or Neill. Michael left Ireland around 1851,arrived in Massachusetts in 1852. In Massachusetts he met and married a younger woman also from Waterford, said to be from Ring; her name was Johanna Power, born 1838. They settled in Fountain City, Wisconsin and had ten children. Michael died at the age of 78 in 1910. By occupation he was an innkeeper, tanner of hides,and fisherman/ mariner.  Their daughter, Ellen who settled in Montana,is my greatgrandmother. I would appreciate any guidance on locating Fitzgerald or Power families possibly related still living in the area . Go raibh mile maith agat!     My Great Great Grandfather was also the same Michael Fitzgerald born 8-15-1832 from Waterford who married Johanna Power.

    My Line: Valerie Tucker Sensiba<Donald C. Tucker Sr<Ruth Marie Fitzgerald< Thomas Fitzgerald<Michael Fitzgerald.

    I thought Bartholmew was also my relation but looking at Michaels Death Certificate he names Michael Fitzgerald and Kate Ryan as his parents. I cannot find a Michael and Kate as his parents HELP!!! lol I feel stuck. I do own a letter he wrote in 1900 nameing all his children and about his voyage to Provenston Mass.
