My Grandfather, Martin Wall was Baptized in Aglish parish on the 2nd March, 1869 . His parents were Matthew & Mary ( Heffernan ) Wall and resided in the townlamd of Ballygambon. I'm looking for any possible Wall / Heffernan descendants .

  • Hi,

Thank you for your message. I hope that someone with information on the Walls and Heffernans makes a connection with you.

In the meantime have you tried looking in the 1901/1911 census records to see what family was still in the area at the time? You can do this here:

    http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/

Also, it may be an idea to contact the local parish priest to see if perhaps he can be of any assistance with regards to any Walls/Heffernans that may be in the parish today. Here is a link to this contact page:

Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.

    Kind regards,

  • THank You Emma for your reply / suggestions. Briefly, I found that my gr grandparents moved around often. By finding the birth records of their nine children, like every two years, they were in a different townland / parish. I did find the death information on my gr grandfather in the Waterford Cty. Library death index. Matthew Wall died in 1900 in the townland of Lacken, Co. Waterford. And the last account of my gr grandmother , Mary ( Heffernan ) Wall.....I found her in the 1901 census. Her age was really way off, but I knew it was her, because she was living with her youngest daughter & son-in-law .....Thomas Curran & Mary ( Wall) Curran.  They lived in house # 1 Balleighteragh East, ( Bohadoon DED ) Kilgobinet parish, Co. Waterford. I never did find any information when my gr grandmother pased away ( I did check the library death index ), but I know it had to be in theb years 1901 and 1906, because the Currans came to the U.S. in 1906 ( I believe they would not leave my elderly gr grandmother behind ( She was not on the 1911 census . ....Anyway, looking for Wall / Heffernan descendants today .....I donot have any info what so ever of Heffernan descendants ( again, my gr grandmother Mary ( Heffernan ) wall married in Modeligo parish in 1857, must of had siblings herself) ..... any info would be greatly appreciated.......
