I have been searching for my Clinton family for a long time. With the availability of parish records online I have been able to establish the marriage of two of my g grandfather, Dennis Clinton's, sisters. Mary Clinton married Thomas Higgins in Athlone in 1864 and their children were baptised at Taghmon RC but the family are noted on civil records as from Killynon, Killucan.

Similarly, Bridget Clinton marriedJames Connor, though I haven't found a marriage, and their children were also baptised at Taghmon but the civil records dating from the birth of their first child has them living at Killynon in the district of Killucan..

Through the baptismal record and civil record I can establish that Thomas Higgins and Mary Clinton and their family were in Killynon, Killucan until Feb. 1878 with the birth of their daughter, and last child found, Ann Higgins, after that time I have not been able to find any of the family through either 1901 or 1911 census or any other records.

Similarly with James Connor and Bridget Clinton the last birth record found was for their son, Christopher, on 25 Dec 1875 at Killynon in the district of Killucan. Again I cannot find this family in the census records.

Would anyone have any information on these families and where Killynon is in Killucan?

Thank you in advance.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

You may want to check Co. Meath. Killyon is a civil parish in Co. Meath which borders Killucan civil parish in Co. Westmeath.
