I am guessing that my ancestors John D. Crowley and his wife Bridget Mary Greene, both born Ireland about 1810, were from the parish of Mullingar. John's county of birth according to his death certificate was Westmeath.

There were only 6 Crowley's in the county in 1854 and 6 Greene families. The only parish that had both surnames living there in 1854 was Mullingar. They may have married there or in the USA.

Their first known child was born in Connecticut in 1836, so they left Ireland for America before the Famine years. As I said, I'm guessing that they knew each other in Ireland.
