    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

You don't mention the religious denomination of the family. RC records for Enniscorthy start in 1794  http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0593   I was not able to find a baptismal record on the Find My Past data base but if Richard was not RC, the record would not be on that site.

  • Hi Gary, Apologies for the late reply but I just came across this post.  If Richard was COI, there was a Richard Martin born near Ferns to Thomas Martin and Esther Griffith in 1799, baptised 17 Mar 1799.

My gg grandfather was Richard Martin, born abt 1824.  Through a DNA match, I have found distant cousins descended from Christopher Martin who lived in Tomsallagh, Clone, Wexford.  Christopher and Thomas were brothers and apparently married sisters.
